Circular Economy

Sustainable practices aim to minimize waste generation and maximize resource efficiency by promoting recycling, reuse, and proper treatment of these waste streams.

Water Conservation

The water used in the process is recirculated. The part of the water which needs to be discarded from the cooling towers is used for cooling of hot Ferrochrome metal before handling and sizing. The sewage generated at the plant is sent to the sewage treatment plant of the industrial area for recovery of water and the wastes. The recovered water is used for green area development and water for the trees

Hence there is no loss of water and almost 100% recovery of the water for the operation of production facilities

Fines and other material

The flue dust generated from the gas cleaning plant bag houses is briquetted along with chrome ore fines and recirculated to the furnaces. The coke and other fines generated inside the plant are also briquetted and recirculated to furnaces.

Ferrochrome Slag

The slag generated at the facilities is used as a by-product in the local industries. Particularly slag is used in the concrete pavers and blocks. Slag is also used in the local cement industry as a additive in the manufacture of cement.Efforts are under progress to use slag as a base and subbase layers in road construction and production of Asphalt
